UVT-D2T
Empowering Cinemas with Unlimited Possibilities
UVT Cinemas Pvt Ltd has developed the D2T Technology Projection System, an innovative solution in association with Avataram and Lumière Academy Of Cinemas, Los Angeles. This presentation will outline the background, features, benefits, implementation, and potential impact of the D2T Technology on the cinema industry.
Background:
In the current digital era, Indian standalone cinema halls face challenges with existing projection systems. In 2004, there were over 24,000 standalone cinemas before the emergence of digital prints. Although digital prints were expected to be a boon for the industry, unfortunately, they became a bane for standalone theaters and filmmakers.
E-Cinemas Technology is more affordable. The imposition of Content Delivery Charges (CDC) or Virtual Print Fees (VPF) resulted in the replacement of Percentage Share Terms with cinema halls by distributors with high-cost MG and Fixed Rental. As a result, the number of screens in India has decreased significantly. The CDC (Content Delivery Charge) is only applicable in India. Therefore, theaters are increasing all across the world, whereas in India, we have 7,000 standalone theaters and 4,500 multiplex screens. Considering the population of our country, we could have 200,000 theaters with affordable ticket prices. China has around 90,000 theaters, while the US has 1 theater for every 8,000 population. UVT's D2T is a revolution aimed at reviving and growing the glory of Indian cinemas.
