SURGICAL INSTRUMENT
Surgical instruments are tools that allow surgeons to open the soft tissue, remove the bone, dissect and isolate the lesion, and remove or obliterate the abnormal structures as a treatment. Bigger tools are used for the initial exposure, and finer ones are used once the delicate structures are encountered.
Dressing Scissors Straight (blunt & sharp)
Dressing of wounds can be done using these scissors. These medical instruments can be sterilized for further use. The sterilization process kills any type of germs and bacteria and makes these safe for use. These scissors are available in the length of 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 inches.

Straight Mayo scissors (Fig. 5.5) are used as utility scissors to cut suture, steri-strips, or electrodes. Curved Mayo scissors (not pictured) are used to cut heavy tissue or to aid in blunt dissection for a generator pocket.

Tonsil (metzenbaum) tissue cutting scissors-straight
Straight Mayos are often called “Suture Scissors.” Metzenbaum scissors or “Metz” are used for fine dissection and cutting. They are most frequently slightly curved. A common mistake is to use Metzenbaums to cut suture, which dulls the scissors and renders then less useful for dissection.

Iris Scissors
An iris scissors is used to complete the retinacular release as proximally as possible while the nerve is under vision and protected. Retinacular release is then completed distally to the level of the wrist crease.
Dressing Scissors (sharp straight)
These scissors are used for general, multipurpose cutting and dissecting. Sharp Operating Scissors cut tougher tissue and are frequently used for dissecting, whereas blunt Dressing Scissors are more often used for cutting materials such as sutures, tubing, or gauze.

Curved Mayo scissors (not pictured) are used to cut heavy tissue or to aid in blunt dissection for a generator pocket. Metzenbaum scissors (Fig. 5.5) have a thinner shaft and finer point than Mayo scissors but are still relatively atraumatic. These are used for cutting delicate tissue or for fine dissection.

MIXTER-Forceps
Mixter Hemostatic Forceps are used to control bleeding from the blood vessels. Overall instrument length is 7 1/4" and features a curved pattern and slightly curved and fully serrated jaws. Mixter Hemostatic Forceps are used to control bleeding from the blood vessels.
Allis Tissue Forceps
An Allis clamp (also called the Allis forceps) is a commonly used surgical instrument. It was invented by Oscar Allis. The Allis clamp is a surgical instrument with sharp teeth, used to hold or grasp heavy tissue. It is also used to grasp fascia and soft tissues such as breast or bowel tissue.

Dissecting Forceps Toothed

Cheatle Forcep
Cheatle Sterilizer Forceps are used to remove sterilised instruments from boilers and formalin cabinets. They are used to ensure that as each item is removed, others are not infected. The forceps are placed in a container of methylated spirits when not in use.
Kocher-Forceps
Used to grasp heavy tissue or clamp large blood vessels to control bleeding. Can be used for intestinal, gallbladder or thyroid procedures.
TOWEL-FORCEPS
Towel clamps are introduced through the ground drapes (at a corner where two drapes meet) and through the patient's skin in order to securely hold the surgical drape during a surgical procedure.
Artery Forceps Curved

Tenaculum Forceps
A tenaculum is a surgical instrument, usually classified as a type of forceps. It consists of a slender sharp-pointed hook attached to a handle and is used mainly in surgery for seizing and holding parts, such as blood vessels.
Towel Clip Cross Action Forceps
Cross action towel clips are used to hold drapes in place during surgical procedures, keeping the operating field exposed.
Babcock Forceps
Babcock Forceps are finger ring, ratcheted, non-perforating forceps used to grasp delicate tissue. They are frequently used with intestinal and laparotomy procedures. Babcock Forceps are similar to Allis forceps.
Artery Forceps Straight
Single use Straight Kocher Artery Forceps, used during surgery to compress the artery, clamp and seal blood vessels or hold the artery out of the way. Manufactured from medical grade surgical stainless steel.
Adson Forceps Plain
Smooth Adson forceps are used for handling delicate tissue. They are regularly used in exploratory surgery for gently moving tissue or for holding it during the suturing process. You would expect to find the instrument in sets for procedures such as appendectomy and biopsy.

Mayo Safety Pin is used for Instrument Holding during the operation procedures and safety of instruments to protect from any damage and scratch.
